Not at all. Lisova is designed specifically for seniors who are not comfortable with technology. There's nothing to navigate, no buttons to learn, no apps to open. They simply speak — their companion listens and responds. The device can be set up and left on a table. Their companion starts the conversation.
Lisova companions are designed to be warm, personal, and consistent — but they are not designed to deceive. If your loved one sincerely asks whether they're talking to a real person, Lisova gently redirects or acknowledges the AI nature of the conversation in an age-appropriate, kind way. We believe transparency is both ethical and, for most families, practically better.
Lisova companions are trained to respond with patience and calm, without arguing, correcting aggressively, or expressing frustration. If your loved one becomes confused or distressed, the companion gently redirects to a comfortable topic. You'll receive a note in your daily digest about any difficult moments, and a real-time alert if anything rises to the level of genuine concern.
Yes. Every conversation is logged and visible in your family dashboard. You can read transcripts, review extracted memories and stories, and see what topics came up. You'll also receive a daily digest email each morning with a summary of the previous day's session.
Lisova actively monitors for scam indicators — phrases like "winning a prize," "someone called about your account," or "pay with gift cards." If detected, the companion immediately and gently asks follow-up questions while sending you a high-priority real-time alert. You don't have to wait for the daily digest. We take this seriously.
During onboarding, you'll tell Lisova about your loved one — their name, their stories, the people and places that matter to them, what they enjoy talking about, and any sensitivities to avoid. This takes about 10 minutes and is done entirely by you. Your loved one doesn't need to do anything during setup. The more detail you provide, the richer and more personal the companion will feel.
Yes. The primary account holder can invite other family members to join the family dashboard, where they can read conversation summaries, view memories and stories, and receive digest emails. Family members can also record voice messages and share photos that get woven into conversations.
Yes. Cancel at any time from your account settings or by emailing us. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period. We don't lock you into contracts. If you cancel, you can also request a full export of your loved one's stories and memories before the account closes.
