What Lisova Is

Lisova ("Lisova," "we," "us," or "our") is a caregiving platform built around an AI-powered voice companion for older adults. The platform includes a mobile app, a web-based family dashboard, and a set of tools designed to support daily conversation, memory preservation, family connection, and coordinated care.

Lisova can be set up by a family member, caregiver, or by the senior themselves. It is intended to complement — not replace — existing care and connection.

The Lisova Platform

When you create a Lisova account, you gain access to the full platform. Not all features involve AI — many are standard caregiving and coordination tools.

• AI voice companion — An AI-powered companion that has daily conversations through the mobile app. The companion remembers past conversations, builds continuity over time, and preserves stories and memories.
• Family dashboard — A web-based dashboard at lisova.ai where you can review conversation transcripts and extracted memories, manage photos, coordinate care, maintain a calendar, set up activity monitoring, and track the Life Story as it develops.
• Life Story — A living document generated from conversations with the companion, capturing stories, experiences, and personality in the speaker's own words.
• Legacy Vault — A secure space for storing important documents, notes, and family records alongside the companion profile.
• Care coordination — Tools for managing care team members, inviting family members and photo contributors, and sharing relevant information across the people involved in care.
• Activity monitoring — Optional alerts that notify designated contacts when a conversation hasn't occurred within a set window. This feature is off by default and can be enabled or disabled at any time from the dashboard.
• Notifications and summaries — Email summaries, push notifications, and conversation recaps to keep account holders informed.
• Living Options Assessment — A guided questionnaire that evaluates potential living arrangement scenarios for the senior, using information you provide — including family member details and geographic context — to generate AI-powered analysis with estimated costs and trade-offs. This tool is informational only and is not a substitute for professional advice.
• Journal — A private space for caregivers to write notes, reflections, and observations about the caregiving experience.
• Balance Wheel — A self-assessment tool that helps caregivers reflect on their own wellbeing across multiple life dimensions.
• Caregiver companion — An AI-powered text assistant available from the dashboard that helps caregivers with platform questions and general caregiving guidance.

The AI Nature of the Service

The voice companion is powered by artificial intelligence. This means:

• The companion is not a human being and should not be represented as one to the person using it, unless a deliberate and informed choice has been made to do so
• Conversations are processed by AI systems to provide the companion service. We do not use your conversations to train AI models, and we require the same commitment from every third-party service that processes your data
• The companion may occasionally say things that are factually incorrect, confusing, or unexpected — Lisova is not liable for AI-generated errors in conversation
• The companion builds continuity over time by retaining conversation history, extracted memories, and stories across sessions — this is core to how the service works
• The Living Options Assessment uses AI to generate scenario analysis, cost estimates, and personalized recommendations based on your questionnaire responses. These outputs are informational estimates — not professional financial, legal, or care-planning advice. Cost figures are derived from published survey data and regional averages, not real-time market pricing
• Other parts of the platform — such as the dashboard, photo management, calendar, and care team tools — are standard software features, not AI-generated

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information at setup and to keep your profile details up to date. You must be 18 or older to create an account.

One Lisova account corresponds to one companion profile. If you are setting up Lisova for multiple people, you'll need a separate account for each.

Free Trial and Demo

Every Lisova account begins with a free trial. No credit card is required to start.

• Free trial — Your free trial begins with a 14-day base period, starting from the first conversation in the app. You can earn up to 16 additional days by completing onboarding tasks — such as uploading photos, inviting family members, reviewing memories, and having conversations — for a maximum trial of 30 days. You will not be charged until the trial period ends and only if you choose to continue.
• Demo mode — You can try a free demo before committing. The demo uses a sample profile and expires after 7 days. No payment information is required.

Subscription and Billing

• Lisova is billed monthly. Your subscription renews automatically on the same date each month unless cancelled.
• You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will not be charged again and will retain access until that date.
• We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to your registered email address.

Data and Privacy

Your use of Lisova is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference. In summary:

• We store conversation history, memories, and stories to provide the companion service
• We actively detect and block storage of sensitive personal information (SSNs, financial details, etc.)
• We do not sell your data to third parties
• You may request deletion of your profile data at any time

Your Data Rights

We believe your family's data belongs to your family. These rights apply to every Lisova account, unconditionally:

• Right to export — You may request a complete export of your data at any time by emailing privacy@lisova.ai, including conversation transcripts, memories, stories, photos, the Life Story document, Legacy Vault documents, journal entries, Living Options assessments, balance wheel records, and checklist data. Export is provided at no cost.
• Right to deletion — You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing privacy@lisova.ai. Deletion is processed within 7 business days and cannot be undone.
• Shutdown notice — In the event Lisova shuts down, we will notify all account holders in advance and ensure full data export is available at no cost before any service termination. After the notice period, all data is permanently deleted from our servers.
• Acquisition protection — If Lisova is acquired, the acquiring company must honor these same data rights. Your data cannot be used for any purpose beyond continuing the Lisova service as you know it. If an acquiring company cannot or will not honor these terms, you will be notified and given the opportunity to export your data at no cost before any transfer. You always have the right to delete your data and leave.

Multiple Users and Shared Access

The person who creates the account is the account holder and is responsible for the account and all activity within it. You may invite family members and care team members to access portions of the dashboard, and photo contributors to upload photos through the mobile app. Each role has different levels of access — photo contributors can add photos but do not have access to the dashboard, conversation transcripts, or any other account data. You are responsible for ensuring that anyone you invite understands and agrees to these terms.

Setting Up Lisova for Someone Else

If you are setting up Lisova on behalf of another person, you represent that you have their authority and consent — or the legal right — to configure a companion for them. You are responsible for ensuring that the person who will use the companion is aware of and comfortable with it.

When using features that involve information about other family members — such as the Living Options family member grid — you represent that you have the authority to provide this information and that it is being shared in good faith for caregiving purposes.

What You Can and Cannot Do

You agree not to:

• Use Lisova for any purpose other than personal companion use
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the service
• Provide false information at setup in ways that could harm the service's effectiveness or safety
• Use the service to interact with a person without their knowledge or against their will

Limitation of Liability

Lisova is provided as-is. While we work hard to keep the service reliable and compassionate, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not liable for missed conversations, technical outages, or AI-generated errors.

Lisova is not liable for decisions made based on information provided by the Living Options Assessment, including cost estimates, scenario rankings, or AI-generated recommendations. The assessment is a starting point for family conversations, not a substitute for professional consultation. Cost estimates may not reflect current market conditions in your area.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of your use of Lisova is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of Lisova after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Lisova will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Dispute Resolution

Before filing any formal claim, you agree to contact us at hello@lisova.ai and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Most issues can be resolved quickly with a direct conversation.
